Boy I tell you what, being sick really sucks. So much stuff to do at home and unlike the Man when he takes time off for being sick and gets to lay in bed; I don’t get time off from work. Thankfully the family has been understanding. Looks like another neighbor is moving away. Kinda odd since we were here before them and now they leaving before us. One next door will be moving this summer also. Hopefully if we get to stay here 2 more years like we want, the new neighbors will be kinda fun. At least have some kids my children’s ages or have some common interest with someone.
I personally think they are a great idea. Helps you make new friends where it can be difficult. Gets you out of the house to talk with other grown-ups and gives fun activities to participate in. Plus these ladies (and sometimes men) are in the same situation as you are, a loved one attached to the military. Some of them are split into enlisted and officer. Some are joint and then there are also the ones for the individual squadrons. You should check them out.
Our base Enlisted Spouses group was supposed to play Bunco last night (I love Bunco by the way). Unfortunately there was only 7 of us at the meeting last night and one had to leave earlier. Kinda makes for a hard game of Bunco. We still had a nice time with conversation about many things, one of which was “Where are all the other spouses?” This base has enough enlisted spouses that we should have had at least a couple dozen people. I have been in squadron level spouses groups that have had more people at the meetings. I don’t understand the lack of participation. We wondered if it was because some may be thinking we should be getting together to go out clubbing. Or perhaps they wanted to bring the children with them (even though there are 2 other groups dedicated to that). The point is, if you have a Spouses group on your base or in your squadron you should go. And if you don’t like whats being offered, AT LEAST give the president or leader of the group some feedback so things can be planned that others may enjoy. Don’t just delete emails or sign up and then never come back without an explanation. COMMUNICATION IS THE KEY.
So some schmuck decided to try to kill Gabrielle Giffords. He wasn’t successful with her but he killed 6 other people including a little girl. She was 9 years old and happened to have been born when the Towers were attacked. He is a pathetic person.
Because of those who lost their lives (and those injured), the President will be heading to a memorial service being held in Tucson AZ. I heard that those idiots from the so-called church have plans to be there to protest. I hope they piss some people off and we can finally be rid of the idiocy and hatred they spread. They are also pathetic people. Pretty sure the Patriot Guard Riders will be there to deflect the stupidity from those attending the service.
Don’t you find it annoying when you find someone who is copy-catting your life or something you do? Or when you have something and they copy it but try to out-do your efforts with what they have come up with. Makes you wonder why they couldn’t come up with an original idea of their own……
He re-enlisted today for another 5 years. Good and bad about that, mostly good. Only bad thing I can think of right now is getting PCS’d. Would really like our oldest to be able to do all his high school time here at the school he is in, its only 2 more years of us being here. We shall see if we get screwed out of that.
I was there to see him do his oath. His boss did it, she’s pretty cool, we like her. She leaves in a few months and hopefully the next person isn’t a dick. A lot of the airmen were there to see their Shirt continue in his AF career. When it was all said and done they all came and shook mine and his hand. They were all pretty nice. I still felt like a wart on the nose lol.
On another note when I picked up the youngest from school I noticed this same lady I have seen before that walks her kid on a child leash. Ya I said it, a leash. kinda like this one here http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/blogs/parenting/detail?entry_id=8170 I mean I seriously felt like asking her what breed her dog was. Hold your child’s damn hand, have some loving contact with them. WTF.
Funny stuff here http://damnyouautocorrect.com/category/best-of-dyac/ WARNING: don’t read while you are drinking anything and make sure you go to the bathroom first or you might piss yourself from laughter. Great site to stop by and read a few to give you a “pick-me-up” for the day. Enjoy.
I hate those days when you wake up and feel like you have been hit with a truck. It’s especially annoying when you didn’t do anything the previous day to explain why you feel that way. Maybe it’s the change in the temperatures making my arm and hand ache, I dunno I just want it to stop.
My livingroom gave birth to a new TV and stand. Still getting used to it, its freaking huge!
Wow I’m terrible at keeping things up to date. Anywho, new year so I will attempt to add some stuff here now and then. Last year ended well, he’s home, new job as a shirt. Lots of fun there even though our group of people seem to keep themself out of trouble most of the time. Hasn’t messed with our life too much.
First annoying thing of the new year……Damn TV seems to have given up on life. I have sound and no picture. He’s been wanting a new TV for a while so I guess he may be happy about that LOL. Only problem with a new TV is he will want a nice flat screen and that requires a new entertainment center so extra cost there. And being New Years Day however, I think most places are closed *rolling of the eyes*.
Off to a good start right!
Anyway, I plan to make some resolutions for myself this year and attempt to keep up with them, we shall see how I do.
HAPPY NEW YEAR!
